The information we obtain and how we use it In order to use SMSactive services other than browse the public area of the web site a user/company must complete a registration form. End users - When an end user registers with the SMSactive site we will collect, store or validate into a secure database the following information: " 6 Character user code (this is text messaged
to the users handset when they opt in to SMSactive or any of its customers
for the very first time only), for validation SMSactive keeps a record of which companies you have opted in with, which companies you have opted out from, what codes you have accessed, how many times, what time of day and what days you accessed them. This information is available to the end user through their personal SMSactive account so that they may manage their account effectively. For every company with which the end users opts in to, a history of their requests identified by their unique 6 character user code will be stored in the specific companies account. The specific information that will be stored is as follows: " Your unique 6 character identifier code Business Customers - When a business registers with SMSactive we will collect, store or validate into a secure database the following information: " First name SMSactive keeps a record of all invoices that has been raised to your account/business. Information of your codes and their descriptions are kept along with all the caller history, covering their 6 character identifier code, the date and the time. This data is used within your own protected account so that you may manage your account effectively, and view the account activity. SMSactive wishes to keep the most accurate user and account information possible. In order to keep the information as accurate as possible SMSactive needs existing users and account holders to update any changes to their information, such as address information.
SMSactive uses the stored information on users and account holders to make improvements to the SMSactive system. By tailoring SMSactive to the customers needs an improved service can be given. SMSactive may use statistics for marketing purposes although no single account holder will ever be identified in said statistics. An example could be, 60% of users are female and 40% are male.
Cookies are required in order to use an account within SMSactive. If cookies are disabled on a device accessing an account, the account will not be accessible. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about that user. SMSactive uses session ID cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates.
SMSactive uses 128 bit encrypted SSL (secure socket
layer) security for all financial transactions to a payment service provider.
